Best Places to Eat in Harrogate

Every month we promote two of our favourite restaurants in Harrogate with special offers to our guests that book direct. We also have long-standing offers with the following top recommendations.

All the restaurants below are between 5 and 15 minute walk from Fountains Guest House and The Belmont Apart Hotel. Click on the name to open up in Google Maps, you can call to make a booking. We recommend booking in advance as Harrogate gets very busy during major conferences and weekends.  

Bright, classy restaurant with outdoor tables serving traditional Turkish dishes, desserts & coffee. A Harrogate Stays favourite given the food, service, price and location. Just 5 minute walk from The Belmont and Fountains, quite small so please book in advance.

Named after small dishes found mainly in Italy’s north, this compact venue serves a varied menu. Serving traditional dishes such as Arancini and tapas. Book early as it’s only a small venue, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The closest restaurant to Fountains and Belmont.

Chic restaurant/bar with a terrace offering traditional Spanish cuisine, tapas and rotisserie chicken. The tapas options works really well for groups as you can mix and match to suit everyone’s tastebuds. 10 to 15 minute walk from Fountains and Belmont.

Traditional Greek fare with in a whitewashed setting with murals on the walls & an upstairs bar. Great value, superb service and delicious food. If you’re looking for some authentic Mediterranean dishes, this is a great choice.

Pioneer pan-Asian eatery serving innovative modern cuisine amid stylish mango and dark wood decor. Bang Bang chicken is a top recommendation, new addition Function room to provide extra covers as this place regularly gets booked up.

Crowd-pleasing British dishes served in a classy upstairs dining room and buzzy ground-floor bistro. Very attentive staff and wide selection of superb quality wines. Approximately 10 minute walk from Fountains and Belmont. If possible try to sit upstairs.

Another excellent choice serving authentic Greek, Albanian & Mediterranean meat and sea food dishes. Located just beyond the train station, a 10-12 minute walk so perhaps worth a taxi if it’s raining or chilly, typically £30-£40 per head.

The most authentic, delicious, fresh food daily using only the finest quality ingredients and excellent service. The sushi here is amazing, the spicy tuna is the best outside of Japan! There is also a takeaway option which works well if you don’t fancy going out for dinner.

Polished locale presenting Spanish tapas with global flair, plus cocktails, sangria and wine. Located amongst lots of bars, this is a popular choice prior to painting the town red! Great service, good value and delicious food.

If you’re looking for live music and cocktails, this is one not to miss. Opened in November 2022, the interiors are excellent and the location is right in the middle of town. Typically £50-£60 per head, so on the more expensive side but a great buzz if that’s what you’re after. 

Stunning old bath hall for upscale Chinese a la carte, dim sum, set lunch and Sunday buffet options. Following an 18 month refurbishment during COVID, the venue is stunning featuring an open kitchen. Service is superb and the dishes are incredible. Closed on Mondays.

Bright, modern, family-friendly restaurant, serving pizzas and Italian favourites. Lots of tables so a better bet if you haven’t booked in advance. Menu is more extensive than Stuzzi and a little cheaper. Close to The Belmont and Fountains Guest House too. 

It’s not possible to list all the amazing restaurants in Harrogate. We are very lucky in that the competition is so fierce, if restaurants aren’t up to scratch, they don’t tend to last very long.If you do try somewhere not on this list and it was a hit, please let us know.
