Best Places to Drink in Harrogate

Harrogate has so many amazing bars and pubs, the town is bustling on a Friday or Saturday night.  At Harrogate Stays, we’re passionate about providing the best possible experience for our guests whilst also promoting local businesses.

Here’s our local guide to help support these awesome venues…

Situated in the heart of Harrogate, the Cold Bath Brewing Co Taphouse is the home and brewing base. It’s our local just a 2 minute stroll from Fountains and The Belmont. The beer is divine and the recently opened Barcuterie next door, affords a great opportunity to grab a tasty snack. No trip with Harrogate Stays is complete without a pint here.

Intimate mom-&-pop owned pub with a warm vibe, large microbrew menu & a dog-friendly patio. Quite small so can be tricky to get a seat at the weekends but such a great bar! No mobile phones, TVs or background music – this is a proper ‘country style’ pub.

North Bar Harrogate is a big, bright beautiful bar 2 minutes away from Harrogate bus station and Harrogate Theatre. Floor to ceiling windows fill the space with sunshine, with our outside seating being a real suntrap. Open from early till late, North Bar in Harrogate has regulars from across North Yorkshire.

Kid-friendly bar serving craft beers & oven-fired pizza in a relaxed ambiance with vintage furniture. Also dog friendly if you are meeting up with local friends that have furry friends, please note, we do not accept dogs at our properties.

Oldest pub in town, with gas-lit saloon bar, serving mainly classic food including basket meals. The main lounge bar area is very well preserved with original Victorian fittings and mirrors. If you like your real ales, this is a must.

If your idea of a good time is chillin’ with a drink in your hand, a bag of bar snacks by your pint, a conversation to put the world to rights and a few unusual things to keep you amused, then the Tower Street Tap is the place for you.

As with our other recommendation pages, we love to promote the smaller independent businesses that make Harrogate such a unique place to visit. There are plenty of other bars in Harrogate that are also great options, if you feel strongly we should add a bar or pub to this list for others to experience, please let us know. We haven’t listed the larger chain bars and pubs but these are also dotted around the town if you want to experience a tried and tested brand, although we feel you’ll be missing out!
